Case Study 1: A major retail chain (UK)

One of the major UK retail chains moved to Red Tag from master bagging. Originally, they tested it in 6 stores during 5 months. These 6 stores experienced a sales uplift of 30 to 40% while shrinkage remained at the same levels as before.

With such results and the upside being so great, this chain urgently trailed in a further 12 stores during 3 months. The sales uplift in this second test was less strong on average (22%), but still very significant. These trials were compared against the rest of the estate, who acted as a control group ; therefore seasonal effects were not influencing in any case the results.

The results of these trials have convinced the store to invest in the Red Tag system, and has helped them to significantly increase their home entertainment sales.

Case Study 2: A specialist home entertainment chain (UK)

One of the major specialist home entertainment chain converted all their key super stores to Red Tag from Safers a few months before the Christmas period. The trial was very successful, with a significant sales uplift and staff supporting the system for its ease of use.

One of the keys in their motivations to use Red Tag is the importance of back catalogue sales: since this chain moved from safers to Red Tag, they saved about 30% more shelf space, which they had extended to the maximum already.

On top of a better back catalogue offering, other positive aspects pointed out were labour costs savings of about 20%, and better customer servicing since staff time was freed.
