The Red Tag system is an efficient anti-theft system, because it has a benefit denial side to it: once the Red Tag has been inserted in the box, the only way to access the disc is to break open the box. Once this is done, the disc is still solidly locked on the release button, and will be damaged if pulled from the hub by force.
