Inserting Red Tags into boxes that are about to be displayed is a very quick process (especially with the tag insertion machines). It is much faster than filing the disc into a cabinet (master bagging system), or locking the box into a safer.
Therefore the "time to shelf", which is critical for sales of new releases especially, can be drastically cut back. Retailers will be able to very quickly display any new stock arrival on shelf.
